This 1880s depiction provides an overlay of the planned but undeveloped streets surrounding City Park. Like the park itself, the adjacent neighborhoods would develop later. Also, Bayou Metairie is still rendered as flowing into Bayou St. John. It has yet to be turned into the park's lagoon.
